Description

Pentzia incana flowering may be plentiful in a good season. The slightly flattened to hemispherical yellow buttons are presented on erect, naked peduncles well above the foliage.

This plant was seen in October in the Little Karoo west of Barrydale. Long new branches have grown after good recent rain, the leaves on them grey with velvety hairs. Old flowerheads turn brown but don’t change shape soon (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015, Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
