Description

The yellow flowers of Lotononis pungens grow solitary on short stalks from leaf axils. Calyx lobes are divided and dissimilar, covered in silky hair. The lobes taper narrowly to acutely pointed tips around the base of the corolla that has a pea-flower shape. The standard is broad and rounded with a slight tip and a central fold.

Flowering happens from spring to autumn. This plant was photographed in April (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
