Image information

Description

Lotononis galpinii is a small shrublet growing small, solitary flowers in summer, about 1 cm in diameter. The flowers are blue with a yellow patch in the centre. Lotononis flowers have similar shapes as pea-flowers.

Hiking trips in the veld should not have time schedules that prevent stopping for admiring and studying the flowers. Looking, feeling, smelling and discussing, possibly identifying is a rewarding pastime in nature. Photographing helps to retain the memories. Picking is not as good.  Remember Jan Smuts: Stop to worship, then move on!
