Cassytha ciliolata, also known as false dodder, devil’s tresses or in Afrikaans nooienshaar (girl's hair) is a twining, rootless, parasitic herb found as a netted mass of yellow tendrils on a variety of host trees and shrubs in the Western and Eastern Cape.

It is different from the real dodder plant, an exotic that belongs to the Cuscuta genus. Cassytha attaches via disc-like pads to the available host plant. The yellow, red or white berries are produced all year round and are eaten by birds.
