Description

Yellow anthers are numerous in the Jordaaniella spongiosa flower centre. Duller yellow than the petal bases and worm-like in shape, the dense covering of anthers conceals the nectary ring in the flower base, as well as the multiple stigmas. This flower has orange-red petals, yellow only at the base (Frandsen, 2017; Cowling and Pierce, 1999).
