This means that the study of the cyclic and seasonal phenomena of a living entity includes all its recognisable phenomena or phases for constituting a complete rendition. All visible differences in development are relevant, albeit unequally significant for the purpose of the observer.

The Grewia robusta flower, after bright colouring and before rounded fruit, looks like this for a short while. Whether the coming fruit phase will be normal, meaning successful, depends on the pollination that should have taken place by now (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997).
