Image information

Description

The flowers of Tritoniopsis antholyza grow in a dense, spirally twisted spike of two more or less opposing flower arrays. They have narrow, curved tubes that open to a trumpet-shape, become up to 30 cm long. The corolla lobes recurve variably. Flower colour is pink, red or salmon.

The stamens protrude together from under the upper tepal. The stigma has three short branches (Manning, 2009; Mustart, et al, 1997).
