Description

Wahlenbergia cuspidata is a perennial herb of the montane grassland of the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Drakensberg, as well as the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho. The plant usually grows among rocks and in damp spots. It reaches 60 cm in height, flowering in summer and early autumn.

The leaves are elliptic and hairy with wavy margins. The sepals around the flower base are slender, tapering. The pale blue flowers grow in branched panicles. They are cup-shaped, facing upwards with five pointed petal tips. Flower diameter is 2 cm to 3 cm (Manning, 2009; iSpot).
