Description

Trachyandra revoluta leaves may be curled, twisted, coiled, snaking or zigzagging when they are not nearly straight. The photo was taken near Vanrhynsdorp in August when leaf withering is usually not yet enforced by conditions.

Only a few leaves emerge here from the sand; these plants may produce large numbers. The pale green, quill-like leaves in picture are slightly shiny. Leaf length is quite varied, the zigzags as well. The papery wrappings around individual leaf bases of this plant are just visible (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
