The stalkless leaves of Oedera genistifolia grow spiralling and ascending on upper stems.

They are narrowly oblong, tapering abruptly to pointed tips that may curve down slightly, usually with a tiny mucro protruding. The thickish blades may be slightly channelled above, the blades grey-green to yellow-green. Young leaves may be sticky on top and fragrant; tiny glands being present. Sparse hairiness can be spotted on some leaves in picture. Leaf dimensions are about 15 mm long and 3 mm wide.

The leaves are narrower than those of O. squarrosa that bears its leaves markedly four-ranked, particularly near the stem-tips (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Mustart, et al, 1997; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://keyserver.lucidcentral.org).
