The inflorescence of Aloidendron dichotomum emerges from a seam between leaves in a stem-tip rosette. It becomes about 30 cm tall.

From three to five racemes make up the panicle that branches low down. The central raceme becomes about 15 cm long, the lateral ones shorter.

There are triangular, tapering bracts, up to 7 mm long, below each flower’s green pedicel. The yellow buds usually have greenish tips. The short and thick open perianths are lemon-yellow to canary yellow. They are fleshy and become about 3,3 cm long.

The inner three flattened filaments are narrower than the outer three, lengthening first to exsert their anthers beyond the perianth mouth before the outer ones. The stigma is also exserted (Reynolds, 1974; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
