The opposite leaves of Crassula pellucida subsp. brachypetala are decussate, i.e. successive pairs are positioned at right angles to each other.

The leaf-shape is ovate to broadly lanceolate, tapering to an acutely pointed tip, while the base is broadly rounded, sometimes fused to a hairy sheath and sometimes stalked. Other subspecies of C. pellucida also have their leaf-pair bases nearly fused.

The thinly succulent blades are green, sometimes with brown stripes on top, in picture slightly glossy. The blade is concave on top, convex below and hairy near its base. The margins are irregularly fringed, in picture ridged and sometimes red. In dry conditions the leaves become purple, particularly on the lower surfaces.

Leaf dimensions are 10 mm to 25 mm long and 5 mm to 12 mm wide (Smith, et al, 2017; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
