Description

Ledebouria marginata is a bulbous herb with firm, broad leaves that become 1,5 cm wide. They grow in a dense rosette, the leaves ascending and persisting at the end of the season, displaying the dried rosette for a while in winter.

The leaf-tips attenuate narrowly as in the photo. They also tend to twist sideways in their upper sections. This distinguishes them from L. revoluta, a similar species with softer leaves that drop off earlier at the end of summer (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; Lowrey and Wright, 1987).
