Description

The inflorescence of Dipcadi glaucum is a raceme growing on a thick, fleshy, green scape. Below the pedicel of each flower a long, thread-like, yellowish bract is present, broad at the base and curving beyond the flower tip.

The three blue-green outer tepals of the flower are at this stage hiding the inner flower parts, bulging at the base where the ovary has already achieved some size. The visible tepals can be seen attenuating to long narrow tips. The specific name, glaucum, reflects the blue-green flower and leaf colouring (iSpot).
