Description

Aloe burgersfortensis is found along the Steelpoort River, the Spekboom River, the Waterval River and in the vicinity of the towns Lydenburg, Barberton and Burgersfort. It grows in low lying, hot, dry areas.

The red flowers with orange perianth tube mouths appear in midwinter on erect panicles. Some have orange perianths with yellow mouths. A robust plant in flower may be 1,5 m tall. The plant may grow solitary or in groups formed through suckering (Reynolds, 1974; Jeppe, 1969).
